Senior School (Years 9-10)
In Years 9 and 10, students are full partners in the learning process, consolidating the knowledge and skills developed in the Middle Years to become lifelong learners. A positive learning culture is promoted through our pastoral and academic programs. A broad range of elective subjects means all students can fully explore their interests and passions and lay the foundations for academic, pre-tertiary or vocational pathways.
During Year 10, students are involved in Pathway Planning and are provided with extensive careers and subject guidance and support to facilitate a successful transition into Senior College. Year 9 and 10 students are led by their respective Year Level Coordinators, supported by our Director of Senior School.
Subject Selection Guides
These handbooks are designed to provide students and parents/guardians with important information about the curriculum for Year 9 and Year 10. They outline the compulsory core subjects, as defined by the Australian Curriculum, and introduce a broad range of elective subjects that students may choose from according to their interests, strengths, and goals.
Trade Readiness Program
The Year 10 Trade Readiness Program offers a practical, integrated approach to the curriculum, specifically designed for students aiming for an apprenticeship or traineeship in the trade industry. Core subjects like English, Maths, and Science are taught in a single collaborative class with students staying connected to mainstream school for PE and electives. Students are kept engaged in all areas of learning, with on-site networking opportunities and on-the-job work experience allowing students to explore vocational career pathway options.
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
To better meet student interests and the growing demand for skilled workers, our College offers five Introductory Vocational Education Training (VET) courses that have been designed as taster courses for Year 10 students.
These courses allow students to gain hands-on experience and to explore different professions, with any units successfully completed providing credit toward full qualifications where these courses are offered in Senior College years.
